BAYAN Muna Representative Joel Virador on Sunday spent his 39th birthday under the custody of the House of Representatives.

Many of the invited guests to his 4 p.m. party were locked out from House premises as an aftermath of the President Macapagal-Arroyo's Proclamation 1017.

Besides the media, Virador's guest list included former Vice President Teofisto Guingona, Cavite Rep. Gilbert Remulla and House Minority Leader Francis Escudero.

However, the media were not allowed in by policemen in charge of House security.

Identification cards issued by House deputy secretary general Noel Albano were largely ignored by the police, insisting that they were under strict orders from the Office of the Sergeant-at-arms, Bayani Fabic, to follow their own "guest list." No other reasons were given.

Virador spent his birthday with his family, staff members and the four other party-list lawmakers facing rebellion charges- Party list Reps. Satur Ocampo, Teodoro Casino, Rafael Mariano and Liza Maza.
