King Gyanendra of Nepal getting desperate!

“King Gyanendra of Nepal getting desperate!”-APC

The militant Asian Peasant Coalition (APC) which is composed of at least 3
million farmers and rural folks from all over Asia lambasted the
autocratic regime of King Gyanendra for yet again placing the country
under a terrorist iron rule.

According to Danilo “Ka Daning” Ramos, secretary general of APC and
Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP), “the recent move of the terrified
terrorist King is not a sign of strength nor courage, it is an obvious
sign of weakness and desperation for he knows the days of his reign is
numbered. It is the usual tactic of! dictators to declare Martial rule
or use force to perpetuate themselves in power, like what Ferdinand Marcos
of the Philippines as well as with Adolf Hitler. They are frightened of
the heightening political consciousness of the masses and their desire to
have a freer and more prosperous life,”

“King Gyanendra is now afraid of the growing protest mobilizations of
Nepali people against him as well as the massive tactical offensives being
launched by the Maoist guerillas ! against the reactionary troops under
him. He is using iron hand tactics to consolidate his rule but as history
would show this will not succeed and he will be ousted. The Nepali
peasants and the people become more determined to fight for their rights
when they are being suppressed.”, added Badrul Alam, APC Vice-chairperson
from Bangladesh and concurrent President of Bangladesh Krishok Federation (BKF).

“We have a piece of unsolicited advice to the King, he should have a
graceful exit while it is still early and abdicate his crown. He should
free all those he has wrongly imprisoned, indemnify those he ordered
killed and whose rights he violated and issue a public apology to the
people of Nepal. Because if he continues what he is doing then the Nepali
people will drag him out of the palace and judge him for his massive
crimes themselves,” ended Ramos. # # #
