On Gloria on International Womens Month and delaying tactics of the Department of (in)Justice

BAYAN Muna Rep. Joel Virador shared some comments on some issues on the occasion of International Womens Day, the illegal detention of Anakpawis Rep. Crispin Beltran and the ongoing restriction of liberties of the "Batasan 5".

On Gloria and International Womens Day: Your kabaro in Malacaang is a traitor

It is ironic to say the least that we have a woman president (whose legitimacy is seriously in doubt) who is a traitor to her fellow women, Rep. Virador said.

Many mothers, daughters and families bear the brunt of Glorias anti-people edicts and policy statements concerning value added taxes, allowing oil companies to hike prices at their whim, and the continued persecution of organizations, partylists and the nations institutions that oppose these, he added.

On the delaying tactics of the DO(i)J

It is quite appalling that the Department of (in-)Justice is keeping 73 year-old Anakpawis Rep. Crispin Beltran in illegal detention for opposing an illegitimate president. (In-)justice secretary Raul Gonzalez, like his boss in Malacaang, does not have compassion, truth, integrity, and fair-play in his vocabulary. He is using delaying tactics in the court proceedings so that his prosecutors can manufacture evidence to back up their charges against the Batasan 5 and Rep. Beltran. This only shows how vicious, how desperate Gloria is to silence all opposition to her highly-questionable presidency, Virador said.

We want Rep. Beltran to be released immediately not only because the DO(i)J has no case against him but also for health and humanitarian reasons. We should have been the Batasan 6 in the first place if not for illegal arrest of Ka Bel, Virador quipped.

Virador, along with fellow Bayan Muna representatives Satur Ocampo, Teodoro Casio, Anakpawis Rep. Rafael Mariano and Gabriela Womens Party Rep. Liza Maza are on their eighth day in protective custody of the House of Representatives. #
